These artists much appreciate Evgeny Shestakov's professional skills and have noted his unique qualities as a dynamic and experienced music director. In May 2004 the world renowned recording label Universal Classics France released a CD of Evgeny Shestakov and the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra performing music by the french jazz violinist and composer Didier Lockwood. In July 2005 Universal Classics France released the second CD of Evgeny Shestakov and the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra where also presented compositions by Didier Lockwood: Concerto for violin and orchestra, Concerto for piano and orchestra. Evgeny Shestakov is one of very few Russian conductors to have been given this great professional honour. Evgeny Shestakov's other CDs have been recorded and released in Russia, Denmark, Spain and USA. 25 CDs have been recorded in Omsk and are ready for distribution. Evgeny Shestakov was trained as a symphonic and operatic conductor in Russia in the Novosibirsk State Conservatory under the guidance and direction of the outstanding conductor-professor Arnold Katz, himself Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Novosibirsk Academic Philharmonic Orchestra. The young conductor was profoundly influenced by Zakhar Bronn, a well-known teacher and violinist working in Novosibirsk at that time, whose classes Evgeny Shestakov attended in the course of several years. Evgeny Shestakov received an excellent, classical conducting education and unique practical experience, all the while developing creative relationships with brilliant and outstanding musicians. Shestakov has subsequently developed his own system of rehearsal-pedagogical work with the orchestra, which includes daily and highly professional work on sound, rhythm, intonation and style. These efforts combined have brought about remarkable results in interpretation and performance with the Omsk Academic Symphony Orchestra. Russian artistic and concert life of the last 15 years has made absolutely new and unusual demands on a chief conductor's knowledge; he has had to become aware of up-to-date management and marketing techniques, whilst searching for creative contacts, promotional agencies and impresarios all over the world. Business associates from abroad and well known musicians all acknowledge Evgeny Shestakov's excellent managerial qualities, his professionalism in negotiations and his fidelity to principles. He pursues his interests with integrity, diplomacy and tact. In short, they rank him among the very finest Russian conductor-managers. |
